School's Out - Indoor Fun Day One - Christmas Reading Area

Make a reading area beside the Christmas tree. Set out cozy blankets and fluffy pillows, then snuggle in to read together. If children are older, everyone can read their own books. Children of all ages can enjoy listening to a great picture book. (I still have fond memories of my high school music teacher reading to our class). You can choose a holiday theme, winter stories, or any dazzling tale.

If you're looking for some great books to explore at your favorite bookstore or library, check out the nearly 100 character-building books in our new book, "Building Character from the Start: 201 Activities to Foster Creativity, Literacy and Play in K-3".

For a special treat, enjoy a mug of hot cocoa with marshmallows! Don't forget to take a picture of everyone curled up beside the Christmas tree!

These activities build assets such as support, commitment to learning and constructive use of time.
